I am a Canadian artist from Minden, Ontario. My studio is based in Cheltenham UK. My work is based in nostalgia of growing up in rural Canada and also the landscapes surrounding my life and heritage in the UK.
I am inspired by the desolate and pure spaces of my rural Canadian childhood, and also the strangeness of rural Britain and by extension the fertile and dark world of myth and legend embedded in the country’s DNA.
I create paintings on wooden plaques, every piece is stitched with wire, and prepared to hand directly on the wall without a frame. I am interested in creating objects that are precious and complete.
Most of my work is small in scale. I am drawn to lonely and magical landscapes and scenes, and pursue this space in my work.
